“The Office” boss Michael Scott listens to Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance”

Why isn’t it surprising that “The Office” boss Michael Scott listens to Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” while cruising around in his car with the top down? Michael (Steve Carell) likes to pretend he knows what’s hip, even as he makes you feel uncomfortable with how incredibly uncool he really is.

Dundler Mifflin’s Scranton branch manager has always entertained us with his musical taste. Take his ringtones, for instance: It’s been everything from Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps” to the supremely annoying “Mambo No. 5.”

Michael also enjoys the occasional mixtape, or as he likes to call it a “CD mixtape,” which actually sort of makes sense. There was the time Michael held a charity auction, and in order to hype the Bruce Springsteen tickets he didn’t really have, he asked warehouse guy Darryl to make a mixtape, listing songs by Huey Lewis and the News instead of the Boss.

Then there was the mixtape he made to woo former HR rep Holly Flax, featuring the Dave Matthews Band classic, “Crash.” Speaking of Holly and Darryl, we can’t forget their bittersweet road trip, in which he and Holly (and a borderline-reluctant Darryl) sang “Life Is a Highway” by Tom Cochrane for hours.

Believe us, like most things with Michael Scott, it was cute at first and then it just got annoying. But, then it got really funny again.
