"Circus" singer Britney Spears is denying allegations that she sexually harassed

"Circus" singer Britney Spears is denying allegations that she sexually harassed former bodyguard Fernando Flores and says an investigation regarding allegations of child abuse is already closed.

"This lawsuit is another unfortunate situation where someone is trying to take advantage of the Spears family and make a name for himself," Spears said in a statement posted to her Web site Thursday after details of Flores' lawsuit were leaked Wednesday to TMZ.com.

"The Department of Children and Family Services conducted a proper investigation surrounding Mr. Flores' accusations and have closed the case without further action."

Spears did not say when the investigation was conducted. The department doesn't release details of its inquiries.

Flores said in his lawsuit that Spears repeatedly exposed herself to him and made other unwanted sexual advances. He also said she used his belt to discipline her young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and behaved inappropriately in front of them on various occasions.

According to Flores' court filings, he began working for Spears in February but left her security detail in June. He's seeking unspecified damages and also is suing his former employer, Advanced Security Concepts Corp.

The first hearing in his case is scheduled for Jan. 25.
